Stock Market

The interest rate cut party has begun. Today, investors started taking positions in anticipation of interest rate cuts by the Fed.

On Wednesday, we will hear from the Fed. The general expectation (which I agree with) is that the Fed will cut interest rates by 0.25% and that there will be several more cuts later this year.

The latter in particular will weigh heavily. A trend of interest rate cuts works wonders. And we are seeing that today on the stock markets.

Gold & Silver

Gold and silver are up. That is a sign that American investors have woken up. When central banks bought gold en masse in recent years, they were asleep.

They never picked up on the fact that since 2021 there has been more demand than supply for silver.

But now that the Fed is going to cut interest rates, they are starting to buy gold and silver. They are also buying shares in mines and prospectors. The Western (American) gold and silver party has finally begun.

Admittedly, this is partly based on the wrong fundamentals. But I'm not going to complain about that.

Of course, lower interest rates are good news for gold and silver. But fundamentally, massive central bank purchases of gold and an impending shortage of silver weigh considerably heavier.

Cryptocurrency

Bitcoin is still nicely consolidating. The crucial resistance remains the same, this is the $117.5K area. If that breaks, we'll be in a great territory for a potential new ATH.
